Wow, the last time I posted on this blog was over two years ago (RIP). Momentarily going to resurrect this blog before it falls back into the abyss. This post is probably going to be all over the place, and possibly a little soppy (apologies).

Early this year, Simon left for Goulburn for 4 months for his first session at the Academy. As a result, it went from seeing him a few times each week to seeing him about once every 1-2 weeks. He recently came back for two weeks and I saw him for 5/7 days in the second week, which felt pretty insane tbh, because I don't remember the last time I got to spend so much time with him. Although it meant neglecting a lot of work-related stuff (and therefore suffering later), I really enjoyed the week and made me appreciate him a lot. We've been together for just over three years, and it has been really wonderful sharing my life with someone else and growing beside them.

He is one of the most patient people I know and I feel incredibly grateful to have someone who celebrates my achievements, tells me when I need to get my shit together, and pushes me to be a better person. And although I do really like things like travelling with him and doing new things etc, it really boils down to small things like waiting for me to watch something on Netflix together, making sure pads are always stocked up at his house, bringing an extra jacket for me (even though I almost always object) because he knows I get cold easily, helping me with my IT problems after I insist it has nothing to do with a loose plug (spoiler alert: it's a loose plug), voluntarily picking out and eating all my beansprouts and letting me nap (and consequently drool) on him while he sits there immobilised watching 15 straight episodes of Brooklyn 99. One of my favourite things was when I woke up really late from a nap one night and mentioned in passing that I was craving egg sushi but no stores were open. He left the room and I thought he was going to do his own thing, but about 20 minutes later he walked in and did his very best with a deconstructed egg sushi aka: egg and seaweed sprinkled on top of rice, with a dash of kewpie mayo lmao it was very cute.

Anyway, that's about it... just wanted to avoid doing work and also wanted to write somewhere about how stellar I think he is.

Hope you're all well and happy!

Hello again everyone. Yes I am alive (albeit barely) but I've decided to finally return to the blogosphere. Firstly, a very belated happy new year to everyone! Hope 2016 treats you well.
I started clinic about a month ago and I have about three hairs left and daily thoughts about buying a one-way ticket to Spain. I'm actually supposed to be doing work at the moment, but have decided to take a break before I lose my mind. Definitely won't be able to blog regularly this year but will try to post updates once every few months.
All the pictures are from this February because they're the only ones on my phone. Short update on what's been happening in my life recently:
- Started and caught up with Narcos in the break (would recommend if you like dramas related to crime and drugs)
- A lot of hanging out with TC / Simon / lying in bed
- I got all Ds last semester which I'm actually really happy about
- Started and finished driving lessons
- Haven't been to the gym since this year started and feeling like 60 turds stacked up on each other
- Wondering how I'm going to survive this semester. While I am enjoying all the clinical experience I'm receiving to a degree, I'm not sure that enjoyment trumps all the stress, time and effort I expend on it.
- Looking forward to a slug reunion when I can finally have human contact with my bbs again.

Lunch w/Mish and Shirlz at Oratnek / Janet joined for Deadpool / Helen joined for dessert

2nd post in a row with no pictures, whoops. My phone has been through some... unfortunate circumstances but it's been a while since my last post so here's a brief update on my life since returning to Sydney. Uni has been okay so far although I have quite a bit to do this sem-break.

  • Had lunch with TC the day potato and I returned to Sydney. We were both so exhausted but it was so nice seeing everyone again :')
  • Went back to work 2 days later and still felt the jetlag. It was also Valentin's and I spent it eating with my true loves - Potato (+brotato),Booby and Julie
  • Was also reunited with my year 1s who are so cute LOL one of my students gave me a stick of lavender that she picked from her garden and I stuck it in my hair for the rest of the day
  • Family dinner with my godfather
  • Watched The Theory of Everything with Dwayne and Julie (waterfalls were shed) and then Kingsman with Mish. It was so good I ended up watching it again with Roger the next day
  • More tutoring the few days after - back to Lidcombe and continued with a new year 12 student
  • Crashed at Anson's apartment with Mish and Potato before we went to watch Swan Lake. It was beautiful and all the dancers were amazing but I didn't enjoy it as much as Wicked
  • Lunch + shopping with Anson then lunch with Mish
  • Winston's last day at work ;____; he was the sweetest co-worker, the one that keeps you grounded and I miss him. I hope he's doing well at his internship
  • Went back to badminton after ages and lol got hit by Tom's 500km/h shuttlecock. Anyhow, it was good playing with everyone again n__n
  • Went to buy Mish's birthday present with Julie, Potato and Booby. We did so well with the budget that day hehe
  • Went to Brekkie Van (BV) with Shirlz. The last time we went was in 2014 so it was really nice getting back into it. We worked on the drink machine this time (usually we do bread, eggs, bacon, etc) and it was really fun. :D One of them thanked us for taking the time to help the community and he said he really appreciated it. It was a really touching moment for me. / Lunch with Simon
  • HAPPY 19TH BIRTHDAY TO MY LOVE, MISH! Had dinner at Manmaruya and ate to the point of explosion. Mish I hope you had a gr8 and super homo night, I love you to da pacific ocean and back
  • Lunch with half of TC after uni, good day :')
  • Breakfast and lunch with Simon. He came over and we cut cute triangle sandwiches + I got to see him draw LOL x500
  • Chris' celebratory dinner @ Strathfield with TC. I'M SAD YOU'RE LEAVING US BUT I'M SO PROUD OF YOU FOR GETTING INTO MED BUB
  • Visited USYD main campus for the ...3rd?? time since starting uni and lay with Mish on the beanbags for like 49 hours. Anson came and we studied for a bit before I left for work
  • Alvin called me out for coffee but everything was closed so we grabbed hot chocolate/doughnuts from 7/11 and sat at the park between our houses. For people who live 2 streets from each other, we rarely ever see each other. I've seen him a handful of times these past 2 years and the last time we went to the park was in Year 12. Either way, it was really nice just sitting there and talking to each other. He's actually a lil punk but he's a great friend and I love him a lot.
  • Went shopping for clothes with booby, thank you so much for coming with me omg. We also discovered this new gelato place called Teddy's on George Street and it's so cute + good ice-cream. Potato joined us and we grabbed some Thai before crashing mine
  • Ate lunch with half of TC / lay in the hotel bed with Mish for like 2-3 hours while everyone went shopping / went to white party which was p good (like pre-party events of just eating and drinking in the hotel with everyone was good, party was not bad) / maccas run @ 4am / crashed at 5
  • Went to RICE with Trevor and it was interesting. I met a lot of his friends and they were so nice :'-)
  • Karman and George came over the next day and we had lunch and I loVE THEM SO MUCH. I love Karman to bits, she's hilarious and small and cute. George is also great - any 29 year old man who accepts cookie monster/elmo socks is great
  • Watch Les Mis with Sharon and her parents and it was so good asdhlkajshfajsdghkjas. It was as great as Wicked and I would easily watch it again (if I had the $$)
  • Simon came over today (well technically yday) and we watched two movies (the horror one being not scary at all) then went to eat dinner. It was a good day n__n
  • Just want to say thank you to Lisa for always being there for me by listening to all the dumb things I have to say. I love you and miss you a lot
  • Someone please take me out once in a while if I become a social hermit crab this year
  • I need to start studying/doing uni work before this sem-break is over
  • Hope you're all doing well, until next time :-)

Today's our last day in Korea and it's been so wonderful here and I feel so happy that I've been able to see so many places with everyone. It's 3:49AM, everyone' s asleep and I'm lying in the dark and thinking of all the people we've met here. Even though the encounters were fleeting, they reside in your mind for a long, long time. Some of the sweetest/cutest people I can think of at the moment: the two dragon beard candy makers who were so hilarious and sweet, the cute guy working at the sock shop, the cute grandma store owner, the shop owner who played guitar in his store, the two women who gave us bracelets as souvenirs and the kid and his grandpa on the train.
And now I'm thinking of all the people I've met for only short periods but wow, were they amazing and the amount of love/respect I'm feeling for them all at the moment is overwhelming.

I'm thinking about the grandma I met at the doctor's. It was around a few weeks before Christmas and we talked for about half an hour while waiting for our appointments. She told me about her sister who passed away from a thyroid problem. I asked her if she was doing anything for Christmas, if she was going to cook up a feast or anything and she said of course, then told me about all the different meals she cooks and all the family she has over. She told me about her grandchildren. She said with a smile "maybe one day you can come and try my cooking" and that's the last thing she said before we parted ways.

There's Josh who's 2-3 years younger than me but he's hilarious and a really good person to talk to. Talked to him pretty much the entire day and one thing really stuck to me. He was talking about his studies and what works best for him. He said "this is how I think about it: don't study because you'll fail if you don't. Study because you need to and you want to learn." Then he told me how it's okay when he gets like 70% on a test because at least then he can learn what he doesn't know and improve from there. Anyway, I just loved his mentality. I don't know, for some reason I usually don't expect younger people to understand so much and to be such good conversationalists but talking to him was really refreshing for some reason.

James was part of our church community and friends with my mum and dad. He passed away last year from cancer and he was somewhere in his 30s. A few days before his funeral I had a dream where he was healthy and that I hugged him really hard for a really long time. When I woke up I cried and thought about him - I didn't know him well but I remember him being funny and he smiled a lot even in the weeks before he passed. He came over for hot pot with his family one day and he was cracking jokes and stuff. I think that was the last time I saw him. His funeral was the most upsetting thing I've ever experienced. All his friends, family and loved ones were gathered there and I honestly can't think of anything more heartbreaking than saying goodbye to someone who's made an impact on your life. That day, my heart felt heavy with the feeling that we wouldn't recover, thag things were not okay because there's someone you'll never see again. But now I realise that things are okay and though he's not here we can always remember and think of him. RIP James.

Forgot to mention some good news: I now tutor year 1 students! I've only taught them once (before I left for Korea) but I think I'll grow to love them so much. 5 and 6 year olds are seriously the most honest people you'll ever meet. They're so cute and they want to tell you everything like what their dad said or what they did on the weekend or they'll make up all these different scenarios after you read them a story. They're so easily excitable and happy and it's so heartwarming that they find joy in everything, no matter how small or insignificant we may think it is. Quotes:
Kid 1: when you marry, do you have to kiss them on the lips?
Kid 2: yes, or you could just hug them

Me: what does "young" mean?
Kid: it means you have nice soft skin like mine! *pokes cheek*

Me: what does being kind mean?
Kid: it means you help someone up when they fall down

All of this reminds me of Tosin who said to me "humans are like cockroaches" while we were walking to the bridge. I didn't fully understand what he meant until after the fireworks, when everyone was walking back to the stations. The entire street was just sprawled with people and he comes up and says "this is what I mean by humans are like cockroaches. We look like drones walking up the street... but every one of us is an individual. You could pick out any person right now and they have their own life and a story to tell". And it's so true - you meet all these amazing people who have stories to tell and you just think to yourself, wow people are brilliant and I'm in love with them and no matter how short or fleeting your stay was, thank you for being in my life.

Hullo hullo, I'm back again. Going to try to blog more regularly now. Hope you all had an amazing New Years and that 2015 is kind to you and brings you lots of happiness and love!

  • Had a really good time spending NYE/NY with Lisa and her uni crew. Squeezed 9 people into a 3-person tent under the Harbour Bridge at Dawes Point and chilled, played games, etc before watching the fireworks. Afterwards we headed to Bondi Beach and everyone slept max. 1 hour before watching the sunrise (my first successful one yay!!!). Thank you guys for a great end to 2014/start to 2015 :')
  • Headed to potato's humble abode afterwards where we watched stuff and I crashed for 4 hours lmao. As always, had a good time just lying on the mattress and chilling/talking/playing with cats with potato.

First sunrise of 2015
  • Met potato's uni friends (meeting everyone's uni crew LOL) at Tanton's house. Ate burgers and played bok bok and people got hit so hard finger outlines started appearing on their skin, veins popped and there was internal bleeding (in the case of potato and i) and someone was simultaneously crying and laughing hysterically
  • Went back to potato's house and Lisa came to chill at night and we ate bread and guacamole, potato made me a cup or corn and we played mario kart. Thanks potato for taking me in for 2 days

  • Lots of car trips to family friend gatherings and therefore, lots of food babies
  • Today Mish came over and we lay on the ground/bed and watched htgawm and oitnb. Highly unproductive and good day as always.

  • Happy birthday to my mum, I love you!

  • I can't believe I'll be flying to korea again in 3 weeks IM SO EXCITED. Travelling and exploring another country is probably one of the best things in the world and doing it with friends must be even better jaghdksgdkaf I caN'T WAIT
  • Hopefully blogging weekly isn't too ambitious... That's it for now, hope you all have a great week (▰˘◡˘▰)

Hello everybody, it’s currently 3:53AM and I’m lying in bed with no pants on. I’m home alone and have literally run out of things to do so thought it would be a good idea to blog before 2014 ends. Feel like quite a bit has happened over this past month but I don’t remember much so, as usual, here’s a massive photo-dump (half of them are unedited because I couldn’t be bothered and the view was too nice to be filtered anyway) and I’ll write on the way.

  • Went cherry-picking at Young with my mum, sister and two aunts. Altogether, the trip took about 9 hours and the heat there was sweltering but I think everyone enjoyed themselves. There’s always something nice about doing things yourself (and eating them on the way)

PRETENTIOUS

  • Put up Christmas decorations at a nursing home with Julie and church friends and had lunch afterwards. :’)
  • Going to a nursing home but we look like crazed 5-year olds

  • Spent a lot of time with my mum during the first(?) week of holidays. Went out to have breakfast with her twice (don’t remember the last time we did that) and dnmed and talked about hot french boys HAHAHAHA n__n. Also went to dye my hair and it was a poor dye job lmao bye

  • Watched a movie with Julie and Mish but I have no recollection of what it was?!?!?! I just remembered we watched something cause of the BH6 photo???
  • Crashed Julie’s w/Mish and just lay on the couch/beanbag watching trash #C’EST LA VIE

  • Skies *_______*

  • Went hiking with Lisa and Oliver and everything there – the ocean, the beaches, the cliffs – was so beautiful. Late night thoughts: the universe is so big and we are so small compared to it and sometimes we’re so caught up in ourselves that we forget to appreciate and value the most important things in our lives.
  • Afterwards I to a conference with Bec and Elisa and went to eat dinner at maccas.. cause it was the only thing open after 11 L
  • Boss invited me to play badminton and wow everyone was so good and hardcore??? And I was just there like ‘where da shuttlecock at… o der it is on da ground cos I couldn’t hit it”
  • Had lunch and dinner with Erica

Doesn't this look like paradise

We all got so tired we had to use walking sticks afterwards...

  • Went on a 4 day cruise with my family and family friends! It was our first time and it was pretty good – the best part being the free buffet/fine dining and the view – but honestly wouldn’t stay for more than 5 days cause everything starts to become repetitive and boring after a while. When we weren’t eating, we went to the deck to swim and read, played board games, watched movies and shows (musical, acrobatic, etc),dancing lessons, went out to look at the sea, sunrise, sunset, etc.
  • Watched Hercules with everyone and it was actually so hilarious (thought it would be srs…) and Transformers 3 with Abe and Alvin cause everyone else wanted to sleep. We nearly fell asleep in the movie ourselves cause it was 3-hours of complete dumbness…
  • Learnt ballroom and jazz dancing HAHAHAHA felt like a total fool doing ballroom but jazz was fun. :’D Our destination was Moreton Island and it was really beautiful – the water was this rly gorgeous mix of green and blue and the sand was rly nice. Unfortunately, my niagra falls was here to stay so I just walked around in the sea for a bit and chilled on the beach w/my sis.
  •  On our last day, Christine, Abe, Alvin and I woke up at 4am to watch the sunrise. It was pitch black and cold and we had hotel towels wrapped around us LMAO and guess what… THE SUNRISE NEVER CAME!!! It was very cloudy that day so the sky just turned from black to grey to dark blue. Oh well HAHAHA
  • All in all, had a really good time :’) Met the nicest people on board and all the crew members were so sweet (shoutout to Ronald!!! :B), food was divine and view was great and it was rly nice living the life for 4 days.

Risking my phone for a pic of ~the waves~
Really missing this

Moreton Island!
~

Us after so many 3-course meals

Last breakfast on the cruise!

  •  Potato came to visit my humble abode the day after I returned. We completed our ritual of eating omelette and toast and lying on the ground. It was awesome.
  •  Went to Michelle and Sarah's for a Christmas dinner. Had actual Christmas food it was gr8 (esp the yorkshire pudding)

  • XMAS PARTY AT POTATO’S!!! Went there early to cut fruit and eat all da springrolls with satay sauce. Had a really fun time (so good seeing everyone :’-*) eating, play games and eating cupcakes at 2am while watching chick flicks

Straightest banana in the world...

  • I turned 19!!!! Walked through the apartment door and was surprised by a lovely BLACK PENIS CAKE. In all seriousness though, thank you guys for spending my birthday with me, for all the homo on the bed under the kinky mirror, dinner then 1am maccas. After a v.disappointing breakfast, went home to celebrate with my family and family friends. Got 3 cakes, what more can a girl want

Help

  • Went to Tim’s Christmas church service with Trevor and met some rly friendly people who told me to come visit anytime *smile blush emoji*. Crashed at Tim’s for a bit before going to Subway for lunch LOL.

  • Got home and my aunts (one from Canberra, the other from Melbourne) had arrived J. Caught up for a bit before heading over to Abe’s for dinner. Had a Masterchef competition there (everyone got a type of meat and had to make a dish within an hour) then talked about new year resolutions and swapped gifts.
