Whatup whatup, hope you homies are doing fine and dandy. I am so tired at the moment, but I have a feeling I won't be able to blog quite as often from now on due to uni (I lied about the 1 post/week thing forgive me friends) so yeah... This post will lack detail and photos because my eyes are minimising by the second but even if I had eyes... I would not be bothered.

Anyway, O-day was great because I met a lot of awesome people who were really nice to talk to. According to one of the lecturer's we may be one of the most isolated campuses, but we're also known as the friendliest so there's that (hooray). Also accompanied potato to her campus which was just wow, I think I had sparkles in my eyes from the beauty (nearly typed booty there). Also got my Ls only 2 years too late but hey, got there eventually. First person I texted was Lisa because I knew she'd be more excited than my parents.

Week 1 of uni has finished end I think I was misled into thinking uni would be fun and exciting and all-round awesomeness. That probably stemmed from the hype of O-day but more so from the fact that my brain has been rendered obsolete due to 4 months of inactivity. Basically, I did not fully understand (and probably still don't) the amount of work that would be thrown at us. Lectures have been alright,  I've enjoyed psychology and cognitive factors as well as the brain one with the cutest lecturer (don't even remember the subject name lol) and I think I will come to enjoy linguistics. As for speech science and cell biology I'm kind of sitting there wondering what's going on with the biggest urge to sleep- story of my educational life. Also, I'm kind of sad I haven't been able to talk to the majority of the people I met at O-day... I'm hoping some of them will be in my tutes/pracs. I've also realised that being a uni student and growing up in general is very expensive... Ls cost me over $60, a weekly train ticket is $27, CCC requirements are no joke either and let's not even get started with textbooks. The best deal I got this week was my Heisenberg t-shirt which will arrive in about a week. *Jesse Pinkman voice* Yeah, Heisenberg! Bitch.
Hung out with Mish today which was therapeutic as well as mucus-inducing (no surprise there). It was a nice end to the less than mediocre week I've had. Will be going out with Lisa, potato and Shirlz tomorrow so yay.

Oh yeah, when I went to potato's campus, she joined a trillion clubs and societies and I was is sad because I had no access card but when she went to Young Vinnies, they said an access card was not compulsory so I was really happy hehe. I think the organisation is absolutely great - they execute services such as Brekky Van and Night Patrol where you go out and provide the homeless with a meal and companionship. There's also a service for youths, where you spend time with those who are disadvantaged in some way. I've always wanted to be part of such an experience and I'm really thankful and excited for this opportunity. We've all been through rough times, been in bad shape, doesn't mean we can't get up once when we fall down. Sometimes that requires help from another person. And if I can lend a helping hand, give back and make a difference in the world, no matter how small, then I'll do my best. Compassion and kindness make us better people.
Also, this is kind of going off track but I remember I was hanging out with Kimbo in the city one day and she suggested that we buy a meal for a homeless man. So we did that - bought a meal from Maccas - and we were about to give it to this homeless man until we realised he had a Samsung Galaxy phone. We were really confused and ended up sharing the cheeseburger between us.
